Hall Hire at 1st Woy Woy Sea Scouts

In 2015 our Hall underwent extensive upgrades and renovations to take us forward into the future and ensure that our Hall could meet our Scouting needs and community expectations. The Hall is located on the waters edge of Woy Woy Channel and the Brisbane Waters, just opposite Lions Park at the end of North Burge Road, Woy Woy.

 

First and foremost, the primary purpose of Scout premises is to provide for the needs of Scouting. 1st Woy Woy will always aim to make full use of our premises and make them a centre from which good Scouting will radiate. In keeping with the Scouts Australia Association policy, our premises can, where possible and when not required for Scouting purposes, be used by other worthwhile organisations for the benefit of the wider community. The Hall can be hired for community events, corporate training, children's parties, christenings, weddings and many other corporate and social events. We do not hire the hall for 18th and 21st birthday parties or end of Season Football Celebrations.

Hiring the Hall

Inquiries about hiring the Hall can be made through our Booking Officer who can help answer any of your questions about the Hall, availability and it's facilities. Once you decide to book, our Booking Officer has the authority to make decisions and deal with all aspects of your booking as covered by our Hall Hire Policy. 

 

 

Hall Hire Fees & Charges 

Our Hall Hire Fees and Charges are determined by our Group Committee and need to provide an adequate return for the capital invested to upgrade our Hall and cover recurring costs for cleaning, garbage charges, power and water supply, insurance and repairs and maintenance etc. The Hall Hire Fees and Charges set out below reflect an adequate proportional share of these costs, and are very competitively priced when you compare our Hall with other Halls of a similar standard and location.

 

It is also important to note that 1st Woy Woy Sea Scouts is a Registered Not For Profit Charity, that relies largely on Fundraising and Hall Hire Income to support our Scouting program, purchase and maintain equipment like boats and tents as well as maintain our property. We are all volunteers who work tirelessly and without payment, to serve our youth and our community by providing this service. We offer generous discounts to Community groups and Charitable events who are registered not for profit charities like us and we offer very competitive prices for all other private and commercial functions. To avoid disappointment or embarrassment, and to respect the time of our volunteers, please refrain from haggling and trying to negotiate a lower price and respect our Charity Status. 

This covers all private bookings for the Hall and includes weddings, children’s birthday parties and christenings,  other parties (excluding 18ths and 21sts) and other private functions. It includes cleaning fees and equipment use. The hall can also be booked as an alternative venue back up. Please find our fees and charges below:

  • $120 per hour for Weekend (starting from Friday 6pm) & Public Holidays (8am - 11pm);

  • $50 per hour for Weekdays (Mon-Thu 8am-10pm, Fri 8am-6pm)

  • $200 Kitchen use, equipment, crockery, glasses & tables;

  • $35 BBQ use;

  • $500 Security Deposit;

  • $50 Booking Fee;

  • $120 as an Back Up Venue, then full charges if used;

  • $30 per hour for previous day set up.

Corporate Functions

This covers all corporate and commercial events that can include training, classes & tuition, and other commercial functions. These can be for one off events or regular hire. All fees and charges include cleaning and resupply. Please find our fees and charges below:

For One Off Hire:

  • $150 per hour for Weekend (starting from Friday 6pm) & Public Holidays (8am - 11pm);

  • $60 per hour for Weekdays (Mon-Thu 8am-10pm, Fri 8am-6pm)

  • $200 Kitchen use, equipment, crockery, glasses & tables;

  • $35 BBQ use;

  • $50 Internet Wifi use & AV equipment set up

  • $500 Security Deposit;

  • $50 Booking Fee;

  • $120 as an Back Up Venue, then full charges if used.

  • $30 per hour for previous day set up

For Regular Use:

  • $80 per hour for Weekend (starting from Friday 6pm) & Public Holidays (8am - 11pm);

  • $40 per hour for Weekdays (Mon-Thu 8am-10pm, Fri 8am-6pm)

  • $90 License Application Fee;

Community Groups & Charitable Events

This covers all Community Group bookings like Mothers Club Meetings, Senior Citizen Clubs, and Book Clubs as well as any Charitable Fundraising events or initiatives (e.g Cancer Council, MS Foundation etc). These can be for one off hires and regular use. To secure these bookings at these prices, proof of charitable status and or incorporation will need to be provided in addition to references.   • $20 per hour for Weekend & Public Holidays (8am - 11pm);

  • $10 per hour for Weekdays (Mon-Fri 8am-10pm);

  • $90 License Application Fee for REGULAR HIRE

  • Cleaning Costs negotiated

Scouts and Guides

All bookings for Scouts Groups and Members of the Scouts Australia Association and Girl Guides need to be made directly through the Group Leader or Leader in Charge.
